Stephan Möhrle – Council Member

Stephan Möhrle has been re-elected as IPB council member in October 2022. e is currently an Assistant Council at the International Criminal Court and the Executive Director of the ArmsInformationCenter since 2015.

He has been working in several criminal cases as legal advisor as well as as advisor for the Ministry of Education Baden-Württemberg. He is a member in several coalitions, e.g. the Coalition for the International Criminal Court in Den Haag, ICAN and IALANA.

Tyson Smith Berry Jr. – Council Member

Tyson Smith Berry Jr. has been elected as IPB council member in October 2022.

Tyson is currently the Executive Director of 4Kids International. He has over 15 years of work experience in humanitarian and social work including education, child protection, peace-building, governance, health, youth and community development. Furthermore, he has expertise in monitoring and evaluation, demography, information technology, programming, and compliance with all necessary regulations in line with the standards of internal policies and procedures of NGOs both local and international.

A-Young Moon – Council Member

A-Young Moon has been re-elected as IPB council member in October 2022.

She is the founder and representative of PEACEMOMO, a non-profit, education specialist organization since 2012. PEACEMOMO translates the language of peace activism into the public education curriculum in order to flatten peace activism to be the default for all. PEACMOMO highlights creating non-teaching, mutually dialogical relations in learning sites and runs regular ToT (training of trainers) programmes to foster transformative peace educators. Sara Medi Jones – Council Member

Sara Medi Jones has been re-elected as IPB council member in October 2022.

She has worked for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) for the past seven years as a campaigner.During this time she has organised numerous demonstrations, including the UK’s largest anti-nuclear protest in a generation in 2016. She has also been involved with several of London’s anti-Trump marches and events. Sara is responsible for CND’s briefings and reports and regularly writes articles on anti-nuclear issues. Yurii Sheliazhenko – Council Member

Yurii Sheliazhenko has been elected as IPB council member in October 2022.

Yurii is the Executive Secretary of the Ukrainian Pacifist Movement, board member at the European Bureau for Conscientious Objection, and at the World BEYOND War. Furthermore, he was lecturer and research associate at the Faculty of Law, KROK University in Kyiv, Ukraine, where he defended his PhD dissertation in law in December 2021. He also obtained master’s degree in law in 2016 as well as a master’s degree in Mediation and Conflict Management in 2021. Yurii authored tens of scholarly articles, taught courses in constitutional and human rights, comparative and international law, legal theory and history. Also, he is public intellectual, blogger, and human rights defender.

Ann Wright – Council Member

Ann Wright has been elected as IPB council member in October 2022.

Ann is a retired US Army Colonel and a US diplomat who resigned in 2003 in opposition to the US war on Iraq. As a US diplomat she had served in US Embassies in Nicaragua, Grenada, Somalia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Sierra Leone, Micronesia, Afghanistan and Mongolia. Since her resignation, she has been working with many organizations that work for peace in our world including Veterans For Peace, CODEPINK: Women for Peace, Peace Action, No to NATO and the International Peace Bureau. She writes extensively and speaks at events around the world. Furtheromre, Ann has co-authored the book “Dissent: Voices of Conscience.”

World Conference Youth Assembly Report

On May 2, 2020, one week after the Online World Conference: Abolish Nuclear Weapons, Resist and Reverse Climate Change, For Social and Economic Justice, the first World Conference Youth Assembly event took place from 9am-11am EST (1:00-3 pm GMT, 10:00-12 pm JST). The event took place with over 370 Zoom participants from 50+ countries around the world, including the United States, Japan, Nepal, the United Kingdom, Kenya, and Germany. It was also live-streamed on Youtube, though there were some technical difficulties that prevented the livestream from starting at the very beginning of the conference. ​A full recording of the Youth Assembly can be found here​. 75 Years Since Victory in Europe: Reflections by IPB Director Reiner Braun

Reiner Braun is as of 2022 the former Executive Director of the International Peace Bureau, a Peace Nobel Price winner as organization, and one of the main speakers of the peace movement in German. He lead the German chapter of The International Association of Lawyers against Nuclear Arms (IALANA), the Vereinigung Deutscher Wissenschaftler (VDW) — the German Pugwash group, Scientists for Peace and Sustainability and the International Network of Engineers and Scientists for Global Responsibility (INES). In 1982 he begun working in the office of the “Krefelder Appeal” against new nuclear weapons in Europe. Reiner Braun is a speaker on the subjects of NATO, militarization of Europe, military spending, responsibility of scientists. He is author of several books, including “Einstein and Peace” and a biography of the Peace Nobel Laureate Joseph Rotblat. He studied German Literature, History and Journalism.
