Fundació Privada Universitat Internacional de la Pau

The International University of Peace was born in 1984 in order to create the conditions and to provide the necessary tools for training, discussion, reflection, understanding and exchange of points of view and experiences concerning conflict and peacebuilding. The University was founded thanks to the initiative of Frederic Roda Pérez through Victor Seix Institute of Polemologia, and Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, Nobel Prize, currently honorary president of the UIP board and trustees, whose president is Mr. Arcadi Oliveres Boadella.

Fundació per la Pau

Fundació per la Pau (Foundation for Peace) is an NGO founded in 1983 that works for a world in peace. By means of an increasingly better informed and active public opinion, it promotes all the cultural and structural changes required to enable the eradication of violence in relationsships between people and cultures.

We work to promote peace research to improve our knowledge about the causes of violence and wars and how we can avoid them (conferences, seminars, publications, etc.).

We promote peace education as a way of replacing, in a progressive manner, the Culture of Violence for a Culture of Peace (exhibitions, activities and teaching materials, workshops, conferences, etc.).

We are involved in campaigns and political pressure initiatives in order to engage our political institutions in compromises to move toward disarmament, demilitarization, conflict prevention, respect for human rights and active promotion of the Culture of Peace.

We support people and groups working on conflicts peaceful resolution in different countries (the Bask Country, Colombia, Israel and Palestine…).

We are members of international networks and coalitions: IPB, IANSA, CMC, ICAN and HAP.
