IPB supports and cooperates with Korea Peace Appeal-End the Korean War and Establish a Peace Agreement signature campaign, led by 352 South Korean civil society organizations.
Ending the Korean War and establishing a Peace Agreement is needed to transform the unstable armistice system into a sustainable peace system on the Korean Peninsula. The Korean War, which broke out in 1950, still continues in the form of an armistice system created by the Armistice Agreement of 1953. Under the armistice system, the Korean Peninsula has suffered from military confrontations and repeated military tensions.
The Korea Peace Appeal is a campaign to drive Korean Peace Process and to achieve denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula through people’s power. The structure of war which has persisted for more than 70 years is a fundamental cause of the Korean Peninsula nuclear problem. Denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula cannot be achieved without formally ending the Korean War and peace-building process.
The Korea Peace Appeal campaign seeks to collect 100 million signatures from around the world by 2023, the 70th anniversary of the Armistice Agreement. Join the Korean Peace Process with your name!
