Theo V. S. Ferreira

Theo Valois Souza Ferreira joined our team in May 2022 and completed his experience with us in May 2023.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU-Brazil), and a Master’s degree in International Relations and European Studies from the Universidade de Évora (Portugal), with intern stays at the Instituto de la Paz y los Conflictos (UGR-Granada, Spain) and at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research of Uppsala Universitet (Sweden). Planning to start a Ph.D. in the second half of 2023.

Alessandra Fontanella

Alessandra Fontanella joined IPB as Assistant Coordinator in September, 2022.

She is currently working towards an MA in International Cooperation at the University of Turin, Italy and is focusing her research on food insecurity and conflict.  Alessandra holds a BA in Foreign Languages and an MA in International Relations. Previously, she has worked in ethical data analysis and administration.

Nina Engelbracht

Nina Engelbracht has joined IPB as Assistant Coordinator in April 2022 and finished her experience in April 2023.

She holds a Bachelor in Business Administration & Economics from University of Hohenheim and a Master in Political Sciences from Heidelberg University. She further works as a conflict researcher on the intrastate conflict in Azerbaijan (Nagorno-Karabkh) at the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research in voluntary capacity.

Prior to joining the IPB team in Berlin, Nina has been working for the Max-Planck-Foundation for International Peace and the Rule of Law and in several other working student positions. She is particularly interested in peace activism, nuclear disarmament as well as feminist foreign policy and has expertise in the Arctic region, Eastern Europe and Russia.

Dr. Lisa Linda Natividad

Dr. Lisa Linda Natividad has been elected as IPB board member in October 2022.

She is a Professor of Social Work at the University of Guam. Lisa is also the primary convener of the Guahan Coalition for Peace and Justice and a founding member of I Hagan Famalao’an Guahan.   She is an indigenous CHamoru who has championed the exposure of the human rights violations against her people and homeland Guahan, which is a military colony of the United States.  She has spoken globally on the topics of demilitarization, decolonization, and the critical role women play in the creation of safe and thriving communities.  Dr. Natividad has presented interventions on the halting of the massive military build-up on Guahan before the United Nations Fourth Committee, Decolonization Committee, and the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.  She is a former member of the Guam Decolonization Commission and has spoken on these issues in Japan, the Philippines, the Untied States, Norway, Ecuador, Fiji, and other countries.  Dr. Natividad joined the IPB Council in March 2021.

Reiner Braun

Reiner Braun is the former Executive Director of IPB. He studied German Literature, History and Journalism. Since 1982, he has been actively involved in the Peace Movement, working in the office of the “Krefelder Appeal” against new nuclear weapons in Europe. He was the Executive Director for Scientists for Peace and Sustainability for several years starting in 1983 (Germany).
