Promoting Global Peace and Nuclear Disarmament: Reiner Braun Meets with His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad

Reiner Braun, German journalist, historian, renowned peace activist, and former Executive Director of the International Peace Bureau (IPB), was recently honored with a private audience with His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba), the Fifth Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

This significant meeting took place at the Islamabad complex in Tilford, United Kingdom, where both leaders engaged in a meaningful dialogue on the state of peace in today’s increasingly unstable world.

During the discussion, Mr. Braun and His Holiness exchanged views on several pressing global concerns, including:

  • The urgent need for peace and diplomacy in response to rising international tensions
  • IPB’s mission to eliminate nuclear weapons and end war as a political instrument
  • The importance of justice, ethical leadership, and selflessness as foundational values for a peaceful global society

Mr. Braun was also given a guided tour of the Islamabad complex. He visited the main mosque, the studios of MTA International, and various administrative departments. The tour provided him with a deeper understanding of the values, outreach, and organizational work of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, which is known globally for its efforts to promote peace through interfaith dialogue and humanitarian service.

The IPB views this meeting as a powerful example of the importance of collaboration between secular and faith-based peace movements. It highlights the potential of shared values to contribute to a more just and harmonious world.
