Maison de Vigilance

Founded in 1984 by Solange Fernex, a famous Green representative at the EU parliament, la Maison de Vigilance is working for the Abolition of nuclear weapons. Every year La Maison de Vigilance organises a fast to commemorate Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings and to create a public opinion to abolish nuclear weapons.
Initially based in Taverny, a small city close to Paris with a nuclear weapon center, La Maison de Vigilance is now acting in Paris, the former basis being closed. Internationnally, la Maison de Vigilance is also involved in lobbying at the Non-Proliferation Treaty conferences.

Peace Union of Finland

Peace Union of Finland is an umbrella organisation of over ten Finnish peace NGO’s, from conscientous objectors to christian peace movements. Individuals can also became supporting members of the Peace Union.
The Peace Union does:
peace political lobbying  (on military spending, conscription issues, defence and security policy issues, supporting the UN, etc.) But it is also active in many disarmament campaigns and networks (landmines, cluster munitions, arms trade, small arms, nuclear weapons).
Since 1998, the Peace Union has had a “Peace School” -programme, and offers peace education with drama methods for school student groups.
The Peace Union also publishes books and peace magazines (Fredsposten in Swedish and Pax in Finnish. Another website www.fredsforbundet.fi
