DCJ invites members and allies across the climate justice, peace, anti-war and social justice movements to a collective workshop exploring the connections between militarism and the climate crisis.

Across the world, the US–Israel-led imperialist agenda, growing militarisation, wars and occupations are deepening the climate crisis, devastating communities and ecosystems, and diverting public resources away from climate action. From Palestine to Sudan, Congo and West Papua, communities face the interconnected impacts of colonialism, militarism, oppression, resource extraction and ecological destruction.

Bringing together perspectives from across regions and movements, this dialogue will combine speaker contributions with collective discussion and strategising. Participants will explore existing initiatives, shared political priorities and opportunities for collaboration, with the aim of identifying concrete next steps towards joint campaigns and action.

Speakers:

  • Rasha Hammo — Palestinian Environmental NGOs Network
  • Dipti Bhatnagar — Justiça Ambiental/Friends of the Earth Mozambique
  • Jax Bongon — IBON International
  • Deborah Burton — Tipping Point North South
  • Nick Buxton — Transnational Institute

Moderators: Rachitaa Gupta, DCJ, and Pang Delgra
