About the Event:

The accelerating pace of European militarisation has become one of the most pressing issues facing civil society today. Across the continent, governments are rapidly increasing military budgets, reinforcing security agendas, and encouraging arms production and procurement at levels not seen in recent decades. This growing militarisation is not only reshaping policy and defense, but also affecting societal values, priorities, and public discourse.

Civil society, peace movements, and disarmament advocates are rising to meet this challenge. Across Europe, grassroots organisations, activists, and concerned citizens are mobilising against this trend, seeking cooperation across borders to build an alternative vision: a peaceful, cooperative, and demilitarised Europe.

This European Meeting to Combat Rearmament is intended to serve as a platform for exchange, strategic planning, and collective action. It will provide space for participating organisations and individuals to:

  • Share updates on national and regional developments related to militarisation

  • Explore opportunities for coordinated European-wide mobilisations

  • Discuss plans for a demonstration in Brussels

  • Consider launching a joint day of action against militarisation across Europe

We welcome peace advocates, campaigners, students, scholars, and all those committed to resisting militarisation and building a peaceful future for Europe.
