This event will highlight the role of women as agents of change in conflict, with a focus on disarmament, documentation, and transformative justice (including reparations). It will emphasize the connection between disarmament and transformative justice, as the global arms trade disproportionately harms women in conflict zones, fueling violence and delaying recovery. This side event will advocate for the inclusion of disarmament in CSW discussions as a key tool for gender-responsive governance.

The event will conclude with a policy and advocacy brief, which will include actionable recommendations for various stakeholders on integrating disarmament into gender-responsive governance. This brief will be distributed at the event and throughout the CSW.
