This year is the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, the 50th anniversay of the death of Aldo Capitini, who is the founder of the Italian Non-Violent movement and the man who launched the very first Perugia to Assisi March in 1961.
The peace march of 25 km will provide firm resistance against growing racism, injustice and violence.

This year the march is preceded by other events beginning from 5th October:
- Meeting for Rights and Responsibilities: about 3500 students will be in Perugia from 5th to 6th October to attend a seminar about peace- and conflict related topics. http://www.perlapace.it/leggi-programma-del-meeting-nazionale-diritti-responsabilita/
