What do nuclear sharing arrangements mean for Europe in 2022? Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy all agree to have US nukes stationed within their territories.
With this agreement in play, a genuine commitment to nuclear disarmament will never be possible. With modernization programs in full swing, nukes being moved around, increasing numbers of deployed missiles and already obscene budgets increasing, and previously removed missiles being returned to the UK shifts us further from this goal.
Nuke Free Europe is a coalition of 17 organizations campaigning for a European security strategy that does not rely on nuclear weapons. Join us for this conversation.
Speakers:
Reiner Braun, International Peace Bureau
Andreas Günther, Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung New York
Marion Küpker, Büchel Campaign, War Resisters International
Joseph Gerson, Campaign for Peace, Disarmament, and Common Security
