Overview
A mistaken lesson from North Korea being taken from the Iran and Ukraine Wars by elites from Seoul to Stockholm, Warsaw to Tokyo, and likely in Teheran is that if you have a nuclear arsenal, you can guarantee your country will not be attacked by a nuclear weapons state. These wars appear to be fueling demands in a growing number of states to develop nuclear weapons arsenals.
Along with the collapse of the New START Treaty and U.S. threats to resume nuclear weapons testing, these wars are weakening hopes for a successful Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty Review Conference and the survival of the NPT itself.
Join Ambassador Lina Arafat, Mayor Tadatoshi Akiba, Jacqueline Cabasso, John Burroughs, and Jeremy Corbyn (invited) to deepen your understanding of how these wars are driving nuclear weapons proliferation and what we can do to preserve the promise of the NPT’s Article VI abolition commitment.
