We warmly invite you to participate in the international online conference:
The Baltic Sea – A Sea of Peace
For centuries, the Baltic Sea has been both a region of peaceful trade, cooperation, and cultural exchange—and a stage of confrontation and war. We view with great concern the current militarization and transformation of our Baltic Sea and the Arctic into a NATO frontline, aimed against our neighbor and economic partner, Russia. This militarization is paralleled by an escalating economic war, marked by sanctions and embargoes.
We remember better times—like the 1975 Helsinki Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) and the “peace dividend” of the 1990s, which gave hope for overcoming axis and bloc divisions and strengthening European cooperation for the benefit of all.
Are EU and NATO power elites preparing a Nordic War 2.0? The devastating consequences of World Wars I and II remind us of what is at stake.
We, the citizens of the countries bordering the Baltic Sea, say once again—as we did in 1945: NEVER AGAIN.
How can the peace movement in the Baltic Sea region promote effective security and a peaceful future?
How can peace-loving people work together to free the Baltic from military grip and transform it into a true sea of peace?
