International Protest Against the NATO War Summit
No NATO War Summit – Stand for Peace, Not War
On June 22, 2025, an international protest will take place in The Hague to challenge the upcoming NATO Summit scheduled for June 24 and 25 at the World Forum. As NATO heads of state prepare to meet and strategize on military operations, this demonstration sends a unified message against militarisation, imperialism, and global conflict.
This protest is organised by the Dutch Counter Summit Coalition for Peace and Justice, including groups such as the Revolutionary Socialist Party and its youth wing ROOD, De Nieuwe Vredesbeweging, BIJ1, and Stop Wapenhandel. These organisations represent a collective stand against war and in favour of peace, justice, and international solidarity.
Protest Route and Purpose
The protest will begin at Koekamp near The Hague Central Station and continue in a march to the Peace Palace. The demonstration will amplify global calls to end war, reduce military spending, and promote peaceful alternatives to international conflict. Participants are encouraged to bring banners, signs, and creative expressions of resistance.
Context and Background
This demonstration follows the two-day Counter Summit held on June 21 and 22 at venues including Social Hub Hoefkade and Grey Space, where activists and peace advocates will gather for dialogue, learning, and coordination. It will also be followed by a World BEYOND War gathering on the evening of June 22 at Grand Cafe Utopie in The Hague.
