Peace. Dignity. Democracy.Culture
A three-day meeting in Barcelona to connect the voices of the Mediterranean, share tools and mobilize collective responses to war, authoritarianism, and the setback in rights.
The forum brings together dialogue, education, and cultural expressions to turn silence into action and envision new pathways to justice and peace.
A key moment for the Mediterranean
The Unsilence Forum takes place at a historic turning point: 30 years since the Barcelona Process and 50 years of the occupation of Western Sahara. A dual anniversary that invites reflection on the past and a rethinking of the future of a region marked by the genocide in Gaza, European rearmament, and the crisis of international law.
This forum provides a space to rethink the role of civil society and the need for a united voice in addressing the global challenges that impact justice, democracy, and human rights.
Three days to connect, learn and create
Barcelona will host a three-day gathering of activists, organizations, institutions, and cultural initiatives from across the Mediterranean.
The program combines lectures, panel discussions, participatory workshops, and cultural activities to connect perspectives, imagine alternatives, and promote collective actions for peace, justice, and dignity.
The content is organized around three main areas of work, combining plenary sessions, parallel sessions, and artistic expressions to strengthen collective action in the Mediterranean:
Genocide, occupation, and the erosion of international humanitarian law
Impact of conflicts and occupations on international law, and how to strengthen the defense of rights and accountability.
Rearmament, militarism, and the meanings of peace
Consequences of European rearmament and civil, feminist, and transnational alternatives to rethink peace.
Democracy and civic space in the face of rising authoritarianism
How to protect fundamental rights, expand mobilization and engagement, and respond to the persecution of dissent.
One common voice for peace
The Unsilence Forum is more than an event: it is a call to consciousness.
A living network of movements and organizations working across the Mediterranean to break the silence, share strategies, and coordinate collective actions in defense of life, dignity, and the freedom of peoples.
Who makes it possible?
An international committee, made up of the leading Euro-Mediterranean civil society organizations working to defend human rights, solidarity, and peace, as well as to combat authoritarianism, war, and genocide across the region.
