  • All panelists (introductory speakers) in each session are asked to speak for maximum 12 minutes. Those speaking from the floor are requested to observe 5-minute time limit, and questions and comments to the panelists should be limited to 2 minutes.

All participating organizations from overseas are invited to send one representative to the Drafting Committee meeting to join Japanese drafting members to discuss the draft of the document on the evening of August 3. The approved draft will be presented to the Closing Session of the International Meeting on August 4 for adoption.

80th Anniversary Special Program in Hiroshima: Inheriting Hibakusha’s Experiences into the Future
(To be livestreamed online)

Time & Venue: 14:00-16:30, Green Arena, Hiroshima Prefectural Sports Center

The aim of this forum is to achieve a nuclear weapon-free world and to inherit and disseminate Hibakusha’s experiences and messages. Focus will be on the surviving Hibakusha who have vivid memories (age 12-13, who were mobilized to work on building demolition on that day or in primary/junior high schools) and can speak on the consequences of the use of nuclear weapons. In addition to the Hibakusha, special guests and speakers may join the program as speakers.
